Setting up forwarding to an external email address with Office 365 Students with Office 365 email accounts may wish to setup email forwarding to an external email account. For example, emails being sent to [email protected] can be forwarded to [email protected]. To do this, you should follow these steps.
Hi, I need to forward emails to an email address outside my domain.
The problem I am facing is that I dont want to create a user to be able to achieve this. In some other words, if you are used to cpanel you simply create a mail forwarder to an email address.
The mailbox does not exist & simply forward
This tutorial (http://community.office365.com/en-us/w/exchange/2191.how-to-forward-email-in-office-365.aspx)
nearly nailed it except that you need to have an existing users to be able to forward the mail.
How can I achieve what I am trying to do?
Thanks

Forward email to an external address without a license?
I used to be able to set up a new Mail User on the tenant domain, then forward to an external email address without using a license. That doesn't seem to be working any longer.
What happens: New mail user under Exchange Admin, [email protected] and the external address is [email protected]. If I send an email from the outside (my gmail), it bounces with a 5.7.1 Access Denied. I do a message trace in O365 and don't see the email in the trace from the gmail account. Internal emails forward just fine.
